Structured cabling

Structured cabling is the network that ties a building together. It runs from a central comms room out to every desk, every meeting room and every device, carrying the data and connectivity they need. Plan it well, and a building can grow, change and take on new technology for years without anyone tearing the walls open again.

The comms rooms are where it all comes back to: the racks, patching and network equipment that everything else plugs into. Add wifi that holds up across the whole floorplate, and a building has what it needs to run anything from a single video call to a full AV fit-out.

Data centres

Picture a warehouse of server racks, each one cabled to an exact specification, with fibre running across the whole site in runs that stretch for miles. That’s what’s required when supporting or installing a data centre.

The standard required is closer to a medical facility than a building site – clean, controlled, and no dust whatsoever. Every cable follows the same path in the same position throughout, combed into straight lines with nothing crossing over. By doing so, we keep the site reliable, easy to cool and easy to work on. It’s the part of the job our team are often most proud of.
